Many people are skeptical about the affects of hypnosis on smoking cessation, and I cant say that I don’t understand their disbelief in the matter, and therefore I am writing this peace, to give these people a bit of a better understanding of why I think hypnosis and hypnotherapy are great aids for fighting smoking cessation.

You must understand that smoking is an addiction, not a disease, and every where you turn your head, you are told that nicotine is highly addictive. But no one talks about the psychological affects these information’s have on our way of thinking, and our beliefs system.
Cigarettes and smoking have a way of getting into almost every part of a humans life once they are addicted, and from there many habits are formed, and associative relations to certain situations in the day gets connected to smoking. Even socially smoking has an enormous impact on our status, and very quickly smoking becomes part of your identity.

What you have to understand is that the psychological and chemical cravings both have their influence on smoking cessation. Many people begin to use smoking as part of their behavior when dealing with unpleasant feelings and emotional stressful situations. They feel that smoking helps them relax, when the scientific facts actually are that smoking immediately raises your heart rate, and the calm they think they feel, in all reality is just their body’s reactions to getting a shot of nicotine back into the bloodstream and no longer is experiencing smoking cessation.

There are made several publications that tells us that our bodies actually don’t need nicotine only a few short days after we quit smoking, and if smoking cessation were purely a physical issue, it would be over and done with in a matter of days. But any smoker that have tried to quit, can tell you their cravings continue for a long time, and these cravings are caused by the psychological effects of smoking cessation.

Exactly therefore hypnosis is effective against smoking cessation, as it an excellent tool for re-learning. By manipulating your subconscious beliefs according to your wishes, your behavior will naturally change, and the habits and associations that used to drive you into smoking again will feel like they were never there. And when you quit smoking after a hypnosis smoking cessation session you will find it a lot easier getting through those first days of physical cravings caused by the chemical reactions in your body.

So in my humble opinion dealing with smoking association from both a psychological and physical point of view is the key to successfully accomplishing getting through smoking cessation. I’m not saying that hypnosis is a magical tool, or that it makes wonders, but it truly is a very powerful way to relearn or unlearn behavior that is disturbing you in daily life. What I am saying however is that with a smart plan and some new tools to help you with your new attitude you will have it a lot easier fighting your smoking cessation.
